I am an experienced psychoanalytic psychotherapist who started working within the mental health field over 30 years ago. I am registered to work with adults and couples.
I am a qualified social worker with both Swedish and UK experience.
I trained and qualified as a psychotherapist in Sweden.
While in Sweden, I worked within several different specialist clinics within the Swedish healthcare system. For example, psychiatric outpatients clinics and eating disorders clinics with a range of psychological and psychiatric complexities, offering consultations, assessments, psychotherapy, and counselling.
I also had a private practice in Stockholm.
Due to my professional experience and my various roles within the Swedish healthcare system, as well as within private practice, I have a vast experience from working with people from all walks of life, culturally as well as socially.
Alongside my long-standing interest for the psychoanalytic theory and practice, I hold a pronounced interest in the study of the humanities, for example, literature, philosophy, ethics, history, and film science.
These other disciplines I find to be an indispensable companion to the practice of psychoanalytic psychotherapy, as they contribute to a deepened understanding of the human condition and the existential questions which are connected to the human suffering, the hopes and fears of change, and the search for meaning and purpose within our limited lifetime.
Psychotherapy gives you an opportunity to examine – without judgement – causes and reasons for your difficulties to bring about change. The conscious mind – rational mind – is only a part of our way of functioning. By finding a space where speaking and listening can enfold, psychotherapy can hold the potential for new paths to open.
Please contact which ever therapist you feel will be best suited for you via the contact form. If that therapist does not have a space to offer then she can refer you to another member of the practice.
I work online and in person.
